Massimiliano Longo was born in Venice in 1954. Both of his parents were artists (his mother still exhibits at the age of 89). He studied in the studio of Pietro Annigoni (who was famed for his romantic portrayal of the young Queen Elizabeth II in 1954) and he qualified at the Venetian Academy of Fine Art in 1982.
Massimiliano is an accomplished painter in all subjects but now specialises as a portrait painter and in his canvasses he unites traditional styles with contemporary composition and angles. In all his work, he keeps faith to the Venetian Realism tradition – the “Verismo Veneto”.
